While many of the roots of racism are very ingrained into society, this does not mean you are helpless. One of the easiest things you can do is to spread awareness on this issue. Post about this on social media, let it be known that this is an issue. You can protest about it, talk to your representative or senator and demand someone speak up about this issue. With all of this, those in power may hear the call to action and it may force them to do something about this issue
